Unrelenting Trump breaks silence, refuses to impose lockdown

President Donald Trump on Friday refused to impose lockdown under any circumstances as the number of Corona Virus cases in the United States has crossed 11 million mark and the death toll has touched 2.5 lakh.

Speaking to the media for the first time after his defeat in the Presidential election early this month he did not say anything whether he would continue his legal battle or not.

When asked about the new administration he replied: “Who knows” and “I guess time will tell.” President Trump is yet to concede defeat.
As the new Joe Biden administration is to take over on January 20 and the United States and Europe are likely to have a harsh winter there is fear that the number of COVID-19 cases and the death toll may pile up further.

The Trump administration has throughout been opposing any strict restrictions like lockdown. Now that he has already lost election and has nothing to fear about any political consequences he has taken a tough stand against any tough measure. Meanwhile Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has arrived in France on a seven-nation trip of Europe and the Middle East. Almost all these countries have acknowledged Joe Biden’s victory.
