Congress got Netaji killed, Mamata acting at the instance of Bangladesh: BJP leaders

While the fire-brand Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Unnao in Uttar Pradesh, Sakshi Maharaj, on Saturday said that the Congress got Netaji killed and that Jawaharlal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi could not stand before his stature, the Pro Tem Speaker of Madhya Pradesh, Rameshwar Sharma, alleged that West Bengal chief minister, Mamata Banerjee, objected to the slogan Jai Shri Ram at the instance of Bangladesh.

Sharma also claimed that he had sent a copy of ‘Ramayana’ to Mamata and charged her with acting under the pressure of Bangladesh as she wants to protect her Rohingya vote-bank.

It needs to be mentioned that at a Union government function on the 124th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in Kolkata on Jan 23 the West Bengal chief minister refused to speak in protest against the slogans Jai Shri Ram, Modi Modi when her turn came to address. Her action took even Prime Minister Narendra Modi by surprise.

This created a sort of political storm in the poll-bound state with the Trinamool Congress alleging that Netaji was being politicised as the election is round the corner.

Meanwhile, while reacting to Sakshi Maharaj’s allegation the Congress expressed shock as to why the BJP got this information so late and that too after coming to power. The party has also demanded action against Sakshi Maharaj.

Interestingly, Sakshi Maharaj by targeting the first Prime Minister Nehru and Father of the Nation Gandhiji gave a new twist when the battle was essentially between the BJP and Trinamool Congress.
