We never had election alliance with LJP: JD(U)

Even as the Lok Janshakti Party chief Chirag Paswan is about to take final decision on fielding 143 candidates for the coming Bihar Assembly election the national general secretary of the Janata Dal United K C Tyagi said on Tuesday that his party never had any alliance with the LJP, be it in 2005, 2010 and 2015 Assembly polls and that any party is free to take its own decision.

He, however, made no reference to the last year’s Lok Sabha poll when the BJP, JDU and LJP contested jointly. Neither did he make any mention that in 2015 it was the LJP which was in the NDA while Janata Dal United fought as Grand Alliance constituent.

Reacting to the LJP parliamentary board’s decision authorising Chirag Paswan to take the final call on the issue of candidates to be put up Tyagi said that no compromise would be made at the chief ministerial face as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah had made it amply clear a number of times. Tyagi was referring to the repeated criticism of chief minister Nitish Kumar by Chirag and the recent newspaper advertisements flaying the functioning of the Bihar government.

As the inter-NDA squabbling hots-up RJD spokesman Manoj Jha said that though this is the internal matter of the ruling alliance there is no denying the fact that the good advices given by Chirag and his own party leader Tejashwi Prasad at the height of Corona Virus and migrant crisis were taken otherwise by the Janata Dal United top Brass. Look what type of language they were using against them, he said. While caught on the wrong foot the BJP only said that the NDA is intact in Bihar.
