RCP Singh absence from Nitish’s virtual rally sparks off speculations

The Janata Dal United leader in Rajya Sabha Ram Chandra Prasad Singh was conspicuous by his absence from the first-ever virtual rally of the party organised on Monday at Karpoori Thakur Sabha Gaar in the party headquarters in Patna.

Though the leader of the party in Lok Sabha, Lallan Singh, senior minister Vijendra Yadav, speaker of the Bihar Assembly Vijay Chaudhary and state unit president Vashisth Narayan Singh were present on the state RCP Singh was nowhere seen in the show, said to be the first such exercise ahead of the announcement of polling dates.

RCP Singh absence sparked off speculations in the party circle as in the early stage of the lockdown he spent many days in his native village in Nalanda district. Weeks after returning to Patna he tested Corona positive and thus his movement was confined. However, he recovered from COVID-19 and started his activities once again. But his absence from Sep 7 show did raise questions as he was till recently considered as Man Friday of the chief minister. On the other hand the photo of Lallan Singh dosing while the chief minister was speaking is doing the rounds in social media.
