Tejashwi targets Nitish after another newly built approach road to bridge washed away

The leader of opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Wednesday came down heavily on the Nitish Kumar government after the approach road of another newly built bridge was washed away on Wednesday. The Rs 509 crore bridge near Bhangra Ghat in Saran was inaugurated by the chief minister on Wednesday.

However, the link road was washed away hours before Nitish Kumar threw it open for the people. Tejashwi asked as to why is chief minister in so hurry to inaugurate one project after another. Only last month another bridge in Sattar Ghat on river Gandak in Gopalganj was washed away just 29 days after the chief minister had inaugurated it. It took eight years for this Rs 264 crore bridge to be built.

The leader of opposition said that during the Lalu-Rabri raj no such incident took place.” Why is the chief minister in such a hurry before the poll? What was his government doing all these years?” Tejashwi taunted the Bihar government over the collapse of approach road of newly built bridge.

After last month incident another bridge had collapsed in north Bihar. Thus August 12 mishap is third in a row in the last 27 days. Experts are questioning as to why the bridges are being inaugurated when north Bihar is reeling under flood and all the rivers are in full spate.
