Reluctant Trump acknowledges Biden’s victory after clashes in Washington DC

Hours after clashes and protests by the supporters of Republican Party in Washington DC and several other cities, President Donald Trump early on Sunday conceded that Democrat rival Joe Biden had actually won the Presidential election. In a tweet Trump said: “He won because the Election was Rigged. NO VOTE WATCHERS OR OBSERVERS allowed, vote tabulated by a Radical Left privately owned company, Dominion, with a bad reputation and burn equipment that couldn’t even qualify for Texas (which I won by a lot!), the Fake & Silent Media, & more!” (sic)

Trump’s tweet followed violent clashes late on Saturday night leading to the stabbing of one person and arrest of twenty others. Thousands of ultra-rightist and White supremacist supporters of Donald Trump gathered from all over the United States in Washington DC and marched towards the Supreme Court. The demonstrators exchanged blows with the supporters of the Democratic Party. Rallies were held at several other cities of the United States where Trump supporters chanted slogans and refused to accept defeat.

Early on Friday some media reports, quoting a top White House official, suggested that preparations are on for the second term of President Donald Trump. However, the latest tweet by Trump in which he reluctantly acknowledged defeat put a full stop on all such speculations about Trump’s second term.
