TNW, New Delhi, May 4: We are living in borrowed time, as we have failed as human being long time back We failed as human when we didn’t say anything when Jews were being treated inhumanly in Hitler era- Don’t think once that people raised Voice and Hitler regime defeated, the World War has nothing to do with people conscience.
Hitler’s death has nothing to do with people voice and as a matter of fact that Nazi’s thought process still exists does prove the point that we have failed as human. We have failed and failing when kids in Syria, Yemen, Philistines become orphans faster than we change our wardrobe, we have failed as human as these people still live in constant fear and many of them go to sleep empty stomach.
We have failed as humanity when Sikhs in India were massacred, and people has not get justice yet, when Kashmiri pundit were thrown out of their homes and killed, we are still failing the humanity when Muslims in India lives in constant fear for their life, afraid of mob lynching and threat of pogrom for a long time.
We have failed when Rohingya massacre happened and people are still out of their native land with no or very dim light at the far end of this dark tunnel. We have failed humanity when people killed in the name of religion, be it ISIS, LeT,HM sponsored killing of humanity or state sponsored pogrom of Rohingya and Uyghur.
We have failed and still failing when people are still being discriminated based on their skin color not based on the good and bad deeds. A white guy with gun in acceptable and termed as protection equipment and same gun on black guy termed as nuisance to the society.
We have failed and still failing when people are being called untouchable based on their caste and oppression of the so called of lower caste are acceptable in society that oppression goes from specific task to rape lynching and believe me rape and lynching are not termed as untouchability in so called society. We have failed the humanity when each major country in the world has the highest percentage of budget allocated to the weapons and least to eradication of hunger and poverty.
We have failed as human and society when we have 2-3 houses and in neighbourhood slum people sleep empty stomach. We have sure failed when people oppress the orphans and kids are being treated inhumanly and we go about our business as usual. We have failed the way we go about lavish parties, waste food and throw in dustbin and a homeless guy looks in dumpster to find something to eat.
We have failed when we do not appreciate the small things in our life, the air, the water, the tree and the grains We failed when we spend money in 10 game matches (IPL, NFL, European league) and did not heed to the fact that our driver/security daughter did not go to School coz of lack of money (May be 1 IPL ticket is enough to send a child to school)
We failed when we spend money watching 10 movies in a year but did not heed to the fact that our maid Son is not getting his medicine in time or orphanage doesn’t have enough food. Now it’s time to wake up and start paying our dues which is very high at this point of time, but there is ray of hope which can be seen during ongoing crises.
Saw hope when few 6-10 year old kids break their piggy banks and trying to support the less fortunate in this crisis. Saw hope when medical professional lead from the front and put their life in line to save others Saw hope when police, cleaning staffs, municipality staff go extra mile to carry out their job and commit to stop this pandemic Saw hope when some big industrialist came forward to share their fortune to fight for humanity Saw hope when the whole world leaders are aligning only towards saving their countrymen
The borrowed time can come to end abruptly, so we cannot stop or slow down we have a lot of dues to pay, we must pray, we must support less fortunate, we must ensure the end of wars, we must ensures the orphans gets the necessary support, we must support humanity, we have to there is no other option, we have to be Human again. Let’s be Human again………
